Heat retention warranty at MARKUTEC
Our "heat retention guarantee" promises you that the drinks you fill in will still be warm or cold hours later. We attach great importance to ensuring that you can enjoy your tea or coffee at the perfect temperature.
Due to our high-quality glass inserts, our products retain heat very well. The double-walled construction ensures the highest level of heat retention. In addition, there is a thin layer of real silver between the glass layers to reflect the heat and keep it inside the glass body.
We are proud to be able to offer our customers this quality and trust in the durability of our products. If the temperature retention is not to your satisfaction, please let us know and we will do everything we can to solve the problem.
Questions & Answers
Are all MARKUTEC vacuum jugs Made in Germany?
Yes, all our MARKUTEC vacuum jugs are actually manufactured in Germany. Not only does the final assembly take place in Germany, but the majority of our plastic parts are also produced directly in Germany. This is a great advantage for our customers, as it means that transportation distances are shorter and we can deliver the ordered products more quickly. This also makes a significant contribution to sustainability at MARKUTEC.
We generally take care to select local suppliers in Germany - whether it's for the packaging or the labelling.
Where does the vacuum jug come from?
The physicist James Dewar used the vacuum vessel in experiments in 1874. These containers, known today as Dewar vessels, were initially made of metal and later out of glass. To reduce heat reflection, Dewar mirrored the inner surfaces of the glass vessels. Nowadays, Dewar jars are used in almost all thermos flasks and bottles.
In Germany, Reinhold Burger conducted research and took Dewar as his role model. In October 1903, Burger registered a patent for the thermos flask. Over the next few years, Burger continued to develop the thermos flask to make it suitable for everyday use.
Today's vacuum jugs and flasks are all based on the inventions of Dewar and Burger.
Which materials are used for the vacuum jugs?
We use high-quality plastics for our MARKUTEC vacuum jugs. Most of our thermos jugs are made of PP (polypropylene). Only our "Best" series is made of ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene). The difference between ABS and PP is not noticeable in our vacuum jugs, however - both types can be used to produce robust and durable plastic parts.
Inside the MARKUTEC vacuum jugs is a double-walled, vacuum-sealed stable glass insert. This is the heart of every thermos jug and ensures outstanding heat retention.
What's the best way to clean my vacuum jug?
It is usually enough to rinse the vacuum jug with hot water after each use to completely remove any coffee or tea remains.
However, you should clean the vacuum jug thoroughly from time to time, e.g. to remove any lingering smells. All you need for this is a lemon or lemon juice. To clean, fill the vacuum jug with hot water and add the juice of half a lemon. Allow to soak for about 20 minutes. Afterwards, it is important to rinse the jug thoroughly. Please do not use brushes - this is only damaging to the glass insert.
